Neurocare Staff Profile - Nicola Hodgkinson

Nicola graduated from University of Salford with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 1996. Since then she has gained a broad range of physiotherapy experience in acute, rehabilitation and community settings in the UK and Australia.

Nicola has always had a specialist interest in neurological rehabilitation. She has worked in this area specifically for thirteen years, ten of them at the Regional Centre for Neurosciences, the Royal Preston Hospital. Her work here has included leading physiotherapy teams within multi disciplinary services for stroke, older adult rehabilitation and falls management.

Nicola is Advanced Bobath Trained and during her career has undertaken a wide variety of clinical courses to further her skills in neurological physiotherapy. She is currently undertaking an MSc in Allied Health Practice.

Nicola works using a patient focused approach and is keen to use her skills and experience to support patients to achieve their own individual goals for movement, mobility and quality of life.

She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is registered with the Health Professions Council.
